Midnight Snacker
It seems someone’s been sneaking snacks
Out of the refrigerator
I check and see on my way to bed
But they’re gone when I come back later
I think it could be ants or mice
Or something of greater might
Like a big, pajama’ed elephant
With a giant appetite
I think I’ll start to label the food
So he knows which ones are mine
And I’m confident he’ll leave them be
For elephants are true and kind
