Albert walked back into the stationary shop and set his things down. He took a large piece of paper and made a sign which he taped to the front door. Then he began cutting the pie, excited to share the first piece.

As we come to a close on “Albert Willis and the Key Lime Pie”, I find that I am quite proud of Albert. While first appearing a simple and clumsily charming fellow, I felt disappointed that his character did not shine through in the midst of this obsessive ordeal with the first pie. After a rough patch, however, I appreciate that he didn’t give up and found a way to share his gifts with others. As I look toward the next story in The Daily Parade, I’m encouraged to keep trying to do the same.
