The pie is coming out of the oven, and as I look at this illustration, the main thing that comes to my mind is potholders. I really appreciate a nice set of potholders. When it comes to our kitchen, I find myself wanting them to be fairly casual and yet somehow unique. The potholder is a part of many special moments: when a dish is removed from the oven, a lid is lifted from a pot that has been simmering, and the all-charming ritual of picking up the tea kettle to pour into the waiting cup. The potholder should not be the focus of those events, but if it can have a little bit of its own understated presence in those moments, the overall experience can be elevated.
