Preferential Seating
Little known of lions
Is how they like to ride
Upon a double-decker bus
On top, but not inside
They love the way the wind roves through
Their thickly waving manes
And how the buildings start to blur
While zipping up the lanes
As for other passengers
Responses are quite varied
For some this is a splendid thing
But for others, downright scary

The Camp of Colonel Gadwick
Colonel Gadwick left his troop
While marching through the wood
To camp a night out by himself
The thought, to him, was good
So settling in upon his rest
He soon did close his eyes
But quickly opened them again
Alarmed by tiger cries
And other sounds
He did not know
Which left him so unnerved
That, marching, he returned right to
The troop in which he served

A Moose Up Top
When heading on a camping trip
I used to hope I’d see
Some moose or bear or wolf or fox
Out in the woods and free
I’d peer and scour, squint real hard
Just to catch a view
But sightings few and far between
Began to make me blue
So now when packing for a trip
I throw a moose up top
So I can say I saw a moose
No matter where we stop

He’ll run out quick
And get right back
For hunger can
Unhorse the best
And he knows just
Which ones to press
